New Year's Themed Baby Shower

If your baby shower is before or after New Years, then it might be fun the have a New Year's themed baby shower.  This might be just the build up or come down from all the excitement of the New Year that you desperately need.  For a New Year's themed baby shower, you might want to have your guests come with pieces of paper that say their New Year's resolutions.  Then, people pass around the resolutions so nobody knows who's is who's and people read them out loud.  The guests can talk about resolutions and why they think some are better or more worthwhile than others.   This is also a good time to help a charity and people less fortunate, so it might be nice to have everyone gather to talk about a charity that they might all consider donating some money to.  This is certainly a nice thought, especially around New Year's.  Food for this day could be very fun.  You could bake cookies in the form clocks with both hands facing the 12 mark, indicating midnight and the New Year.  You could have symbolic candies for both the coming of the baby and the coming of the New Year.  Invites for a New Year's party can be very fun.  Since them is New Year's, you could buy New Year's cards but write  them as though they were baby shower invitations. If you are feeling a little more festive, you buy New  Year's hats and send them to each guest, with the baby shower invitations attached to the inside.
